Collection: Marek Ormandík
Marek Ormandík is a Slovak contemporary artist known for his bold, expressive figurative paintings, drawings, and sculptures. Born in 1968 in Bratislava, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, where he developed a distinctive style marked by dynamic brushwork, intense colors, and emotionally charged subjects. His work often explores biblical, mythological, and existential themes, portraying human figures in raw, dramatic compositions that challenge conventional aesthetics.
Ormandík has exhibited extensively across Europe, with solo and group shows in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, and beyond. His powerful artworks, which blend abstraction with figuration, have earned him several prestigious awards, including the Grand Prix for Painting at Mandrač 94 in Croatia and the Crystal Wing Award for Art in Slovakia.
By confronting themes of spirituality, anxiety, and the human condition, Ormandík’s paintings serve as a reflection of inner struggles and contemporary society. His work is held in private and public collections worldwide.
