South Africas economy is heavily reliant on mining and utilises cheap, exploitable black labour. There is a mining theme park in Johannesburg that I used to visit as a child where you can go down into an old gold mine as a tourist attraction. I was interested in the idea of this institution of oppression being turned into an amusement park for tourists who ignorantly "enjoy" the experience of a mine while thousands of people daily get sent down without choice.
